strange popping and skipping on audio track

I recently recorded some synth through an amp via an eray of pedals. I mic'ed up the cab using a SM57>Focusrite Saffire>Macbook pro 13" (10.6.8) running Logic 9.1.6.

upon listening back there are loads of popping sounds and glitches all over the track. It doesn't seem to affect the flow of the track (its not causing the audio to skip).

I bounced the track out to see if it would change but to no avail.

Any ideas?

If I could post the track up it may help

Is the audio clipping? Or did the recordings glitch (ie the computer or disk was too busy during recording, or the audio buffer was too small, causing glitches?)
