Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone has any information on software (preferably
free) that will allow you to automatically copy specific files to external HDD Drives at
certain timed intervals. I've been told about "Carbon Copy Cloner" but am interested in
finding out if there are other options as well. Thank you!

I would go with Carbon Copy Cloner. I have just switched to it having got fed up with the
quirks of Time Machine. The other option I am aware of, is Super Duper.

Used SuperDuper for years, it's great, and it smart updates a clone of my system disk
every night at 3am, as well as other things...

How is your shell scripting? If you are happy to do some under the hood programming, like
any unix based system OSX has rsync and I know one user who has set that up so that it
runs automatically.

A Vote here for Goodsync. It is available for both mac and pc. Used it for
years. Never missed a beat. Cheers Lizardpoint
