HK Audio Elements vs Bose L1 (Model I)

Hi. We're a three-piece band (auto-comp keyboard/bass/guitar) looking to "downgrade" our Mackie PA to something more... carryable?

The Bose system sounds OK, if a bit light on the bass. Also doubles as monitoring.
The HK system apparently sounds better and has more punch in the bass.

Question: Dows it also double as monitoring like Bose does?
