Fender Frontman 212R
      #971784 - 23/02/12 09:57 AM
I'm after a new amp having been borrowing a mate's Peavey Bandit for a number of years. Budget's a little tight and I've got my eyes on a Fender Frontman 212R at around £190. I play in a band that leans heavily towards classic British Rock (Who, Pistols, Clash) but we also knock out our own stuff which invariably needs maybe a less crunchy (although I do love that sound), clean sound.
We generally play typical pubs although occasionally get larger function-room type gigs (including last year "The Point" at old Trafford Cricket Ground in case anyone knows it - a huge, vast, open, high-ceilinged place).
Anyone got any experience of this amp or can recommend a suitable alternative along those kind of lines cost-wise?
Also after a multi-FX pedal; the Boss ME25 was something I was considering - again, if not that something round about that sort of price range (I've seen it for £140).
Any tips? Thanks...

I would personally go for a Peavey Classic or a Blackstar for that type of sound
Also would do AC/DC type stuff

Then again I am a valve addict
