Lots of close-up shots of buttons. No proper photos of the live rooms. Location of studio hidden. Yeah, that all gives me confidence.

Hmmm... Is that really what passes for a recording studio these days?.. Looks like a bedroom setup

Dear Candy Bass

Might I respectfully suggest you talk to someone who knows what's what regarding proper acoustic treatment of what appears to be your mix area.

Too many bare walls and other reflective surfaces methinks, compounded by a very dodgy placement of your LH monitor.

A quick read of some previous Sound-on-Sound "Studio SOS" articles might start to point you in the direction of what needs doing.

Sincerely. Mike

You got that bit right.

It's a semi on the corner of Jasmine Close and Uphall Road, outside Ilford in Essex. I wish the lads luck with their DJ shows and everything, but I don't think the studio in a back room in Ilford will be a goer TBH.

Asen Ognyanov Kirilov, age 27, from Bulgaria. Good luck to him, good website design, but a bit Arbee Studios TBH!

BTW, who is Mr Ajay Kapoor (age 44, Indian and of the same address) and why does he claim to be a lawyer and providing legal immigration advice? Just curious!

Mr Ajay Kapoor claims to be an immigration adviser running 'Ask Legal Services'. The website states -

"Ask Legal Services is a fast growing immigration firm with a vision to have global reach within next five years. It is an immigration firm accredited by Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner at their highest level to provide immigration advice or services with regards to UK Immigration. The founder of Ask Legal Services holds a Law Degree, LLB (Hons), from a London University and has level 3 accreditation from Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner."

Yet the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner does not any record of an Ajay Kapoor or a company called Ask Legal Services, though they are a registered company, with a proud record, dating back as far as July 14, last year.

And then there's this place -

It even has the number and street of your semi on it, but the building seems to have sprouted a wing or three!

Funny what you find in just a few minutes!

Site appears to be down, but I found this...

Sites here. http://www.candybassrecords.com/#!artists/vstc3=dr-clique

I dunno, I think most studios look like this these days. IE a PC and a screen and a keyboard. Its what I whinge on about in every other thread or haven't you lot noticed??

I agree there sound proofing is well off but it does look like a commercial premises.

I do agree though with a PC and a laptop and a chick eating pringles, well there's nothing there I couldn't do at home myself. Unless the producer they have is awesome, then I could see some worth. But hip hop isn't my thing so it all sounds bad to me.

Ah, what the hell, I wish them luck success etc. There web site looks very pro, to me anyhow. Id be happy with a site like that.

....But a 'studio' to me will never be a PC. From what I understand though I am way in the minority with this so perhaps this will satisfy the generation under me - And Elf (Sorry mate, couldn't resist a dig you virtual heathen )
