iDisk replacement options

Hello,
I've been happily using iDisk for years now but the end is near. I have
three main uses: 1) to back-up work at the end of each day (I access iDisk via
Transmit) 2) to share/swap work with others via the Public folder 3) to send
links to files for clients to download
iCloud ain't going to be providing any
of that in the immediate future so I wondered what others have done and what people can
recommend?
I'm still happily on OSX.6.8

Dropbox... it works on all platforms including LINUX. Can't fail. (+public folder,
one-to-one folder, etc...). Cool.

another +1 for Dropbox. I've only got the free version (2 GB storage to start) but through
slowly showing friends and family how easy it is to use I've earned an additional 4GB of
storage which is much more than I currently need.
I've used Dropbox for a quite
a while anyway but it wasn't until I started using it with 2 computers and sharing files
with someone else that I realised just how good it is.
Hope this helps J

That sounds like an overwhelming vote for Dropbox.
Thank you, everyone.

I use Dropbox for sharing large files but Sugersync is my preferred utility for backing
admin up to the cloud on the fly, so I always have access to important files on my mobile
devices. Bob

Genuinely interested, Bob...
Dropbox enables me to get at my files from any of
my devices, including my iPhone and Archos (Android). What is it about about sugarsync
that Dropbox doesn't do?
I'm always open to a better solution if one exists!!

I like Dropbox enough to spring for the 50Gb paid for version. My recent discovery is that
it is perfectly feasible to put whole web sites there. For instance, our website www.fierydragon.org.uk is hosted
in our Dropbox public folder. It's very convenient to edit the code wherever I happen to
be and not have to worry about uploading the amended code. Being Dropbox, earlier versions
of the files are retained so I'm safe if I cock it up. Nifty. CC
