Create a take folder? new
      #974975 - 09/03/12 08:46 PM
So today I tracked some drums in pro tools, but there was a huge rush to get out of the studio, so I barely had time to save and copy the folder to my HD. No pro tools anymore, so all I had to work with were the audio tracks.

The audio tracks all started from slightly different points but were pretty much the same length. There's 7 takes the same length, but as I said not starting from exactly the same bar. So I imported them all into logic, each mic of each take on it's own track, and synced them by ear. So I now have 7 takes (10 channels in each take) in logic, but I want to comp between them. Is there a way I can take for example the inner kick mic channel from every take, and put them all onto one take folder, as if they'd be recorded in logic (8) first?

Hope you guys get what I mean!

Just found one way... Set take 1s input as bus 'X', then send take 2's output to that bus, and record it over the top. Then do it again for each take. Seems like a long way round when you could just stack them all up and hit like merge all to take folder or something?

Arrange page, local menu: Region -> Folder -> Pack Take Folder.

Bloomin' genius - Thanks!

I have however, run into another little problem. I have my take folders ready to comp, and put all the tracks into group 1 and enabled region selection. When I select volume, and adjust one of the tracks volume, they all change, as they should, so I know they're grouped properly. However... When I carry out my comp selections, 2 of the 10 tracks don't change, as if they weren't grouped?!
