Piano sheet Music for "Jungleland"
      #975472 - 13/03/12 11:00 AM
...been trawling the net for the sheet music (the piano part specifically) to Springsteen's "Jungleland" but to no avail. I've got a Springsteen guitar book that has a pretty basic (and adapted for guitar) stab at the chords, and I've worked out the pattern played (up to a point) over the first verses, but it's really of little other use.
Just wondered if anybody here could point me in the right direction or help at all?
Thanks in anticipation.

Keep trawling!

Hint: Google "Jungleland sheet music" or search Amazon, say, for "Springsteen Keyboard songbook 1973-80"

If you have a music programme that turns midi into notation you can probably (almost certainly) find a midi of Jungleland

Amazon has that book in stock and you could have it tomorrow if you're quick. Don't forget that Amazon usually has quite a lot of info about books and recordings so you can check out lots of stuff there.

I have indeed trawled further!
There are a few books that look like they *might* be there or thereabouts but I wanted to be absolutely sure before buying any. Amazon do have "Born To Run" in sheet music form for piano, guitar and vocal but when you try their "look inside" facility, you can quite clearly see that the piano parts to Thunder Road, whilst not completely wrong, are far from the real thing, and that's what I'm after. I have a "Complete Works of Bruce Springsteen" book and that barely bothers with the intro..
I have managed to find a website that has what looks and sounds like a more accurate stab at the chords and have got the intro more or less there. The main reason for asking the question though is I've seen a couple of Youtube vids of kids playing it (and they're spot on); they've got sheet music in front of them and that's what I'm really after.
Onwards and upwards though. I'm making a half-decent effort at working it out...

As often as not you'll find that even the best transcriptions are not 100% accurate, partly because it's difficult to notate the way musicians play without music and partly to make the music easy enough for Joe Public to have a go at. Also, we all have a slightly different idea of how close it needs to be to be 'authentic' - often you can make up the missing bits; sometimes you can't.

When I was at school (no internet, no money and fair amounts of spare time) we used to transcribe from recordings, often taking it in turns, which seems to help as what sounds weird to one person sometime sounds really straightforward to another.

Also, check out the Youtube vid in case they've done their own score with Sibelius or something - you might be able to tell, but of course it might be so blurred that in fact it's a phone book and you're none the wiser.

Best of luck, anyway - I salute your drive to get the notes right.

Would love to have seen the "unedited by zenguitar" version of that...

just removed the signature, nothing exciting.

Classic random post made for the express purpose of spamming the forums with the link in the sig. Still deciding whether to send a warning PM next time he does it or just ban him.
