Spectrum Analyser Freeware Mac
      #979597 - 01/04/12 11:07 PM
Hi People,

Does anyone know of a free spectrum analyser for Mac. It will be for live sound use.
Ideally it will have the full frequency range viewable in one window (20hz - 20khz)

I've tried a few this evening but all seem to be short of the mark somewhat.

It's really just for detecting feedback quickly and will be used in conjunction with a 31 band eq.

Many thanks sos'ers

Can't think of freeware for Mac, but there's lots for the iPhone if you had one.

Your ears.

Seriously, don't depend on an RTA for this, train your ears, you will quickly get good at this.

Thanks for the replys. I think the blue cat audio analyser is a plugin, which is just for use within a daw. I'm really looking for a standalone program but thanks all the same.

I'm not too bad at recognising frequencies by ear, but fall short of pinointing exact frequencies by ear. As said above, perhaps I need to just train my ears a little more.

Thanks guys
