Sure - I use the terminology loosely; maybe a better wording would be: "soulful
instrumental and vocal music based on timing other than 4/4, simple major & minor
chords and which contain an element of improvisation and musical interplay unheard of on
radio today"... but I guess that would be a mouthful!

For me, the aforementioned records have really excellent instrument sound programming,
synth, bass and guitar patches. I think it might be interesting to delve into how these
were created and who did the programming?
I agree, the smooth jazz genre has
really emphasized the idea that 'getting paid' by any means is acceptable, but that would
be true of most (all) popular music today?
