A poll - non SOS readers new
      #986337 - 08/05/12 02:40 PM
It would be great to get your feedback on this quick and easy question. Do you know of anyone who's making or recording music, in any sort of environment which they consider is their studio, who doesn't read Sound On Sound?
Do you know of anyone who makes/records/produces music/audio etc, in an environment they would refer to as their studio space, who doesn't read Sound On Sound?
You may choose only one
Yes

Whilst I contribute to the forums and read the odd article online, I rarely buy the magazine these days. The last copy I bought was the anniversary one. However, it is the first magazine I would recommend to anyone interested in music production and is a valuable resource. I still have the first copy my brother bought in December 1994.

I think one of the reasons to stop buying it, was to stop my gear addiction.

I'm sure I will pick up a copy from time to time when I spot it in a paper shop.

I am wondering, what is the purpose of the vote?

I know plenty who aren't avid readers, though I guess they've all looked at the odd copy.

I've had a year's subscription a few times over the past 25 years. Then I let it drop - there's just so much can be said about recording technique, and I'm not gear-obsessed. Reading it 6 months behind on-line does me fine!

I think we need to clarify the exact details of studio space actually. Without nailing that down we can't really get a definitive answer. i.e I have a friend who reads sound on sound whose keyboard is in the lounge which can be classed as a living area. Or is it a studio space? Because he does do studio-esque things in there when the missus is at bingo.

FWIW I also have another friend that doesn't buy SOS and has a proper studio. His neighbour lets him borrow his copy but I am not sure if he ever gets chance to read it due to being so busy. I would be unsure how to vote in this instance.

Some clarification would be appreciated before I cast my vote. Thx

Before I answer, I first wish to know if my work location is suitable for this questionnaire.
It's important that I know that my place of work qualifies as a studio ..

First of all though I am going to order another Pina Colada..
Then I need to send these mixes over to BBH..

That is open to debate somewhat. Is this a space you use for studio activities? Or merely a space where you inactively position studio equipment?
