Haven't been here for a while, nice to see a few familiar faces
Also, sort of a rant I'm afraid
weekend, after a very long time off, I started mucking about in the studio again and it
was a basically a nightmare. I had completely forgotten how Logic worked and then went to
program some drums using SD 2.0 and the Hypereditor....nothing worked.
the creative ideas I had when I went in vanished in a haze of frustration and rage that
things just wouldn't work the way I wanted them to.
The Hypereditor just seemed
really clunky-it was impossible to put notes/beats where I wanted even after tuning the
grid to its finest setting, then two notes would get selected when selecting one and all
this after having spent the day relearning Logic......you get the picture.
course it's never easy after time off but it was such a frustrating experience that I'm
ready to buy anything to make the drum programming process moire palatable and am looking
at Protools 10 which apparently will run on my 2408MK3.
Can anyone who has used
both comment on the relative merits of specifically the drum editing/programming of each
using soft synth drums such as SD?
After all, no point in getting pissed off if
it's for fun!
