From what I have heard they will be showing a fully working version at NAMM in the next
few days (all other apperances have been with mockups), so I think that it is unlikely
that anyone outside of behringer and probably the press ahs seen the working unit yet.
They sould be releasing it around spring I believe. Then we should know more about
it and how it sounds, and what if any midas/klark teknik tech is inside it.

yeah, they also said the moon was blue cheese.
(or for example, that
they had stock of the original blue focusrite saffire pro26, when it was just announced
at NAMM, although units did not ship for a further 8 months...... (announced Jan,
expected April, shipped August)

I bought one of the mx9000 when they first came out and within 3 weeks 2 channels went
down, so it went back, to be returned a few weeks later, and a few weeks after that,
another channel went down. And it wasn't so much that in itself but my setup was all up in
the loft, 3 floors up, and then disconnecting all the looms, the send and returns to the
HD Recorder, the aux send returns - OMG never again.
I suppose at least the
X32 doesn't isn't as bulky nor weighs as much as a sideboard.
In fairness to
Behringer, I then bought a Tascam DM24, and after a few years the dreaded lines appeared
on the LCD, but at least I got more than a few weeks out of it

I haven't looked, but kinda imagine there's loads of good digital mixers going for
peanuts on the Bay of E.
What's so special about this behringer ?

The price and the rumour that it will have klark technic engineering inside. I very much
doubt it will to be honest, at the price it's going for I would not expect a lot.

Wll they do say that there will be some new mixer incop[erating klark teknik effects
(check news section on behringer website(And i doubt that a company like behringer would
buy such a prestigious company and use some of their technology to improve their products.
Especially if that improvement come through reliability as there have been SOME good
Behringer products but the reliability aspect has let them down. Lets jut hope that
the Behringer city manufacturing plant is as good as they claim it is. (there are videos
on youtube showing you around). Because if this mixer is unreliable then they could have a
costly failure on their hands.

Also full digital recall (including gain) which many older digi mixers didn't have. Flying
faders, which you don't get on the Presonus which is the nearest rival. And digi snake
(stagebox) included, which is a *KILLER* feature.
Behringer certainly do copy
analogue using cheaper components, but their digi stuff is generally pretty good. The old
DDX digi mixer was a great bit of kit, only let down by naff preamps. If they've been
sensible and put OK preamps on this, they're seriously in business.

Already put this as a new post but behringer have announced that their new mixers http://www.behringer.com/news/behringer-introduces-revolutionary-ipad-mixe
rs-xenyx-ix3242usb-ix2442usb-and-ix1642usb/ will have klark teknik effects, if that is
so will the X32 have the same? If yes then excelente!

It is never the design of the circuitry that
sorts out the men from the boys, other than getting it right and achieving what you wanted
to achieve (noise floor, phase compensation, distortion, etc., etc., etc.) but the
implementation.
Two manufacturers can built the exact same circuit and produce
totally different products. Behringer built a desk that was a copy of a Mackie, which was
a copy (more or less) of a Soundcraft (or so it was alleged) and the damn thing goes up in
flames, or just stops working. It has different distortion and noise floor levels,
cross-talk is higher, phase on the eqs is lousy - and so on!
On a mixing desk,
it is all about the things that make a product expensive, such as quality of components,
heat management, space, current reserves and last but by no means least, mechanical build
quality.
Look at the Amek Angela - one of the simplest desks ever built, just
27 caps per channel, simpler even than many Behringer desks, but people fight to get a
good used one. Why? Because it was simple, reliable and well built!

Read this http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/S16.aspx
If youn read
through you find out that they are to release a X16 digital mixer!!
Although the S16 was initially designed for use with our flagship X32 and X16 digital
consoles
Also their digital snake is powered by Midas!

Talking about reliability, I still use two Yamaha 02R's cascaded together. I still fancy
the Behringer though, which if it lives up to the hype (and the bought in expertise) will
be great value.

I thought it would be powered by nPower or
another electricity supplier, maybe beringer is buying up them not.

Anyone interested in learning more about the X32 and Behringer's plans for world
domination should log in to the forum a week on Friday -- Friday 3rd August -- at 3pm UK
time. Sound On Sound will be hosting a live Q&A session on the SOS Live Sound &
Performance forum with Uli Behringer as well as a product specialist and a couple of other
Music Group people. More details next week. hugh

I hope Hugh doesn't mind me mentioning it, but in reference to the soundforums.net pointer
a few posts above, not only is the a long thread on the X32 which may be of interest but
Uli himself has also been on there answering questions for the last week in a seperate
dedicated Q&A thread.
Anyone wishing to take the opertunity to raise a
question when the Q&A kicks off over here might want to pop over there first and see
if it's already been covered. It's not often that any company will engage on this level
let alone one with such a err... interesting past and potentially a very suprising future
so it'd be nice not to re-tread old ground as I'm sure the's a million and one questions
we could put forward, without covering the same questions that are already in the public
domain.
