Piano compositions - have a listen. new
      #989197 - 23/05/12 07:17 PM
My Dad is taking to recording compositions for piano, so I said I would master them and put them up on t' internet for him. He's not going to be going round dropping links in forums, looking for likes and thumbs up etc, so I thought I would put them somewhere nice and respectable ...

Have a listen - just for pleasure no need for any critique!

many thanks...

Listened to the 3. It was a pleasure.
'Live at the Chilingham Arms' oh yeah! The drummer David Carnegie gives it all eh? Great stuff!
Thanks for sharing Chaconne. Your Dad rocks.

Your Dad is a great player! I love the harmonies and feel of the prelude. However, I feel it is only the start of the track: at the moment it is very much an arpeggiated harmony, without much of a melody. I would love to hear a solo melody line over it, for example with oboe or violin, or an overdub on the piano. This would make the track sing.

In the waltz, which I really love, the accompaniment is much simpler and this makes room for a nice melody in the right hand. That is fantastic, I can imagine a big orchestra arrangement in my head. At some point in the middle, I feel your dad is getting a bit carried away with technique. He is doing some great runs that I can only dream of playing, but for me they don't add much to the emotion of the track. At the start it sounds so nice and romantic, I would stick with that.

In all cases, great music!

Superb. Gawd, I wish I had half of that level of playing talent! The guy is definitely gifted.
