iPad June issue: titles for studiofile feature
      #990300 - 29/05/12 11:15 PM
Hi,

A small issue with this article...on the iPad version of the June issue the heading text for pages 2-4 still reads "record plant, Los Angeles" when it should be "Hansa Tonstudio, Berlin"

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for letting us know. That'll be my fault, as I write the iPad text, although I was sure it was correct because I'd started with a blank canvas!

Apologies for that - I'll make sure to triple check the July issue

Nope, I've just checked, it WAS right in my version - phew! In that case, I really don't know why this happened, but I'll raise it with our app guys and make sure they look out for any weird text problems in the next issue.

If you need me to send you a screenshot then let me know.

It is not in any body text - it is the title in the top section of each page of the article next to the SOS logo (this must have some sort of technical name but I'm struggling to think of it!). The first page is correct, so it's pages 2-4 that have the incorrect text.

It's not a biggie as it doesn't take anything out of the article at all, I just thought you'd like to know

Hi Chris,

Yes, I misunderstood you

You're quite right to point out that the header text for this article was incorrect. This was simply down to a graphical error as we have automated scripts that make amendments to articles for iPad and on this occasion it failed to pick up this example.

Thanks again for letting us know. I'm doubtful we'll create an updated version as this is only a small typographical error and doesn't affect the quality of the article itself, however we'll be sure to look extra hard for similar problems in future issues before they are sent to Apple

hi jennifer, sorry to add to your list of things to check in future articles, but i found the main (first page of review) scrollable photo of the solaris synth in the june iPad issue almost impossible to scroll correctly.
it works if you 'flick' the image to scroll and it goes past quite smoothly but if you try and do it manually and scroll it side-to-side whilst your finger is still on the photo, you just end up moving the whole page back/forth. a tad frustrating if you want to enjoy the whole synthphotogasm!
i haven't noticed this on any other sideways-scrollable photos, they seem to work fine. it's just this one.

sean
