Fader Maintenance on an AW4416

Hi Folks,
One of faders (#2) on my AW4416 is getting a little "snaggy" when I
stereo link them or run an automix that has activity on that particular channel in mono.
Probably needs a little TLC, whats the best stuff to use to lubricate motors/tracks? I
know it's getting old, but I still love it, and with a bit of care I'd like to make it
last as long as possible. Any experience or techniques you could pass along with this sort
of endeavour would be greatly appreciated.

Right,for anyone else looking to do this (must be a busy day). Here's what I've
found: Deoxit do a thing called, (oddly enough) "Fader Lube"! It is available on eBay for
ridiculous amounts (£25/can)(oh well if you need it, you need it). Recommended process is
to clean first with regular Deoxit and then apply the Fader Lube. Right, now
the daunting bit, popping the hood on my beloved AW4416................  Cheers, Dog

Hi People, Just an update, I've found what looks to be a pretty good article
for which I will provide the link (it is from a rival publication so mods please feel free
to edit/remove due to business concerns/constraints) Here's the link: web page There's some really good stuff in there (Deoxit V Servisol
etc.) If possible, I really would appreciate someone with a bit of knowledge in
this area vetting the article and advising on anything they feel has been missed or

I remember there is a fader calibration method, but I can't remember how, holding down a
button whilst switching on is all I recall, sorry. Sad the AW4416 forum at socialentropy
went down, that was a nice site. Sorry can't be more helpful, but just to add
your not the only one who still loves their AW4416.

For
my old 01V you power up whilst holding down ENTER key. Maybe it's the same for the AW.
Could check the manual.

Hi Guys,
Appreciate the input, I had forgotten about that. Yeah socialentropy
was a real "go to" for info on the aw's G/2816/4416/1600/2400 (computers are great, but if
Yamaha had come out with the 8832 I'd have ripped their hand off.

Sorry Dog, I've been away, so only just read this thread.
