iew=collapsed&sb=5&o=365&fpart=1#995034Now it seems there's been a million
replies of blank pages.... Thanks very much to the idiots who are first to hand
to write stupid replies as if it a race to see who can post the most lame comment... well,

The idiot on here are not _that_ stupid. You might also consider the possibility (however
unlikely it may seem) of a computer glitch.
Indeed, there seems to be a bug
in the forum software that sometimes does this.

Sorry about this bequick_x - the multi-page thing is a bug that very occasionally happens,
but I've informed out resident boffin behind the scenes who should be able to return it to
normality so that you get some more sensible replies Hang in there! Martin

Thanks, I agree. I go on this forum becuase I know people know their stuff!
It just frustrates me when people treat a genuine post as a stupid one. The more it
happens the less I want to ask for advice in the future. I'm a professional musician and
I'd appreciate it if people didn't reply to posts as if I'm the stupid one!
Thanks Martin for sorting that out!

I fail to see how a couple of mildy trite posts have riled you so
much. Nobody has called you names, nobody's has belittled you... In fact the only
communique even owned at you was Elf having a jest that because a few cables existed you
had to go and spend money like it was burning a hole in your pocket!!

Well, pretty well everybody here has to go and spend money on things simply because they
exist. That's the nature of our beast. And I'm as guilty as the next man of adding trite
comments - that used to be 'my job' in board meetings when I worked in industry. Now I
have no other place to let off steam with my stoopid remarks, but I can assure you all
that no offence is ever intended.
The point we sometimes miss when we're
discussing the whole newbie/stupid question issue is that most questions come with a range
of answers depending on the OP's experience, budget, other equipment and general attitude.
Usually we ask for and get, eventually, enough information to give helpful answers, but
sometimes that process is a bit drawn out and leaves opportunities for the 'witty' members
here to add a baroque twiddle or two to the discussion. If we all put ourselves in the
OP's shoes for a moment we'd probably not do it, but when you've trawled the whole site
and found nothing to engage your vast intellect, the little devils do urge you on a bit.
So although we're not necessarily bad people, I can see how if you met us in the pub you
might decide to sit at another table.
Oh, and occasionally I post a 'silly',
but some of the questions that come up, if not silly, are ones that the poster could
probably have solved with a little thought instead of asking everybody else to think for
him/her. None of us is perfect. I think the forums would be a bit barren without humour,
even though some of it misfires.

There's no need for that -- and it's in breach of the forum rules, so take that as
a first warning. More over, if you start throwing abuse around you can expect a lot more
coming back your way.
No one here owes you a reply, and there are no
rules against indulging in a little light-hearted banter along the way -- much as it can
be extremely frustrating sometimes if you're desperate for an answer. So might I
respectfully suggest you lighten up a bit.
While you're mulling that over... I
have posted a (hopefully) more constructive reply in your original thread.
