My Alesis Micron has a hum, does your's ? you can notice it live, when you have to play
loud, everyone tells me I'm humming in my
studio and with normal listening levels its not noticable unless you crank up the volume.
Has anyone else got this probelm ? Take care, Tony.

Is it a hum or a whine? If it's a high pitched whine, then i had the same thing with my
ion. I sent it back and htey fixed it for free.
If it's a bassier hum, it
could just be an earth loop.

Hi, it's not a whine, it's a low frequency hum, 50 hertz, which I find strange as it has
an external PSU, also it runs REALLY hot, is this normal ? I have no Earth loops, it
does it everywhere I go, if it persists I'm mgoing to take it back and get them to sort it
out. This is tiresome, Alesis quallity control seems to leave a lot to be desired, this my
second one as the first was faulty as well.
Take care,
Tony.

Tony,
No intention to be insulting, but are you using TRS connectors for the
Micon's audio out, with balanced cables running to balanced inputs on your PA? If not all
parts are balanced, then this may be a cause for the hum.
Cheers, Tomas

If it's any consolation (probably not if your Micron is new-ish) - they were
super-efficient about fixing my long-out-of-guarantee Ion. And packaging up your Micron
will be considerably less of a pain.

Hi Tomas, I thought that the outputs on the Mcron were unbalanced. It still hums even at
home, with very short leads running into my mixer. I'll try balanced leads, but I feel it
won't help. Alesis are going to send me a new PSU, I tried a different one yesterday and
it reduced the hum, so their may be a fault with my existing one. I hate these
things, technical problems are the baine of my life, I need a full-time engineer Tony.

plug them into your Micron, crank the volume up full, do you hear a faint hum ? this is am
I being to picky here, is this annoying ? is this normal ? I'm intersted to find out if
other Microns have this "problem"

Almost 7 years since the last post - yes when I turn up the volume there is a hum in my
headphhones. What does this mean? That's two of us now (unless you sold your micron
and I bought it)
