Souncraft Delta DLX
      #999401 - 23/07/12 03:50 PM
Hi, I've just got hold of a Soundcraft Delta DLX (with the better eq modules) and some spare modules. A couple of questions.....

1. The spare modules (some deluxe eq ones) have what appears to be some sort of calibration screw near the phantom power switch which most of the other same modules do not have. Any ideas?

2. The modules have both line in and xlr/microphone inputs. It is *recommended* in the manual not to use these xlr inputs for line level sources but doesn't say you can't (something about resistance loads etc may damage the equipment. I could make good use of these rather than using a patchbay (it lets you switch between the inputs).
Here's a link to the manual.....

Thoughts. Help. Please. Thankyou

Mic inputs have a lower input impedance than line inputs which means that, while they work at a lower voltage, they need more current. Some line outputs may not like supplying that current - although it won't be a problem with a well designed output. You can get over this problem by using either a transformer or an attenuator - I'd go for a simple attenuator as it will be both the cheapest and the best sounding option. Something like this from CPC .
