Which MIDI Drum Kit?
      #839361 - 11/06/10 12:32 AM
I'm looking to add a MIDI drum kit to my small project studio and it would be great to get some advice from those that have use them as to what would suit my needs. I recorded my first album using a basic Roland TD5 kit and enjoyed the degree of flexibility it allowed me (particularly in correcting my mistakes as I'm definately not the worlds best drummer...er...far from it in fact... ) which is why I'm now after something similar, and preferably better if possible, within my budget of £900 (ideally less).

I'm more than happy to buy used from Ebay if there isn't anything new in my price range that people would recommend. I've recently read good things about the Alesis DM10 but haven't had chance to play one yet. I've also been offered a 6 year old DDrum4 kit plus brain but I'm not sure if the seller has now sold it to someone else

I already have a Premier acoustic kit which is mic'd and ready to go but ideally I'd like to find a kit which feels good to play and that I can use with Superior Drummer. Using DDrum triggers with the acoustic kit is an option but at the moment, until my new studio space is finished, when playing in the evenings I have to be careful of volume.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Leigh.
