Would love to see
something on those lines but who knows...Every one keeps asking for MS-20 this MS-20 that
like it was the only good synth Korg made

It's a bit ugly but highly intriguing. I look forward to seeing the
details.

Ha, now with sync - to what?
Maybe the next one will have keys, or be
polyphonic.
One day there might be a standard synth communication protocol as
well.
A little two far back really - you can get loads of stuff like this
already? They want a bit of the boutique scene?

Looks like Korg slipped up having that on their website, as its now gone. It's
neat though. But no midi again?? And that vile ribbon controller, again.. Ugh! It had
better be cheap, then perhaps i'll attack one with a soldering iron Paul

Because the Korg site had 4 picts, one of which showed the
back. There was no midi..
But does have sync in & out via analogue trigger/CV
(although what they expect you to connect that to these days is anyones guess). Plus the
usual audio out, and audio input, like the monotron.

The pics are still on Matrixsynth, link
above. Quote:

Yup! I hope the drums are
analogue. Would seem a shame if they're nasty little PCM samples.

But no midi again??
I think no MIDI is to be expected
personally. CV to MIDI isn't trivial and it leaves the door open for 3rd party activity
which is part of the appeal. I assuming/hoping the sync in/out is CV although it might
just be a gate signal for the sequencer ... ooh, I wonder if you can chain multiple
Monotribes? Seems like a good idea.

Yes it is vile and presumably no battery control
anymore.

But you've got to give Korg props for thinking out of the box and coming up with quirky,
dedicated, affordable fun boxes and instruments, rather than just churning out rompler
after rompler like Rolayamaha can only seem to do... (Tenori-on aside...)

Thank you ~Paul for the midi info. I would not hold my breath jellyjim expecting
analogue drums. monotribe = electribe = pcm drums. I could be very wrong. Still looks
like fun!

Ok the cat's out the bag and the furry little critter damn well has claws! The
drums are analog and it does still have a speaker and run on batteries! I'll let you read the rest for yourselves. http://matrixsynth.blogspot.com/2011/04/new-korg-monotribe-in-flesh.html
