Hardware Vocoder suggestions? new
      #929662 - 24/07/11 09:58 AM
Can anyone suggest a rack mounted vocoder, 2nd hand of course?

I've been looking around and the one that stands out all the time is the Korg Micro but I want just the rack hardware and control it with my own keyboard.

Thanks peeps.

Korg MS2000R or MS2000BR. Both pretty much the same thing. They're the rackmount version of the MS2000 and MS2000B synths... which are essentially 'full fat' versions of the 'lite' Micro.

The Novation Supernova/2, KS Rack and A-Station all had pretty nice vocoders imo

+1 For the MS-2000R

Roland JP-8080 or Novation Supernova 2. My money would be on the JP.

... and the cheaper end of proper analogue vocoding would include the unit by MAM and the FAT Procoder (dimly recalled from memory and may not be its actual name).

Vintage units for more hefty dosh would also include the Korg VC-10 and Roland VP-330.

My aging Boss SE70 also has some nice vocoders built into its extensive effects arsenal

I only ever hear good things about this little unit. Might have to grab one some time.

Hi nathan!

They do seem to be attracting a bit of a cult following
