GEM Promega 2 - Volume Pedals? new
      #870736 - 26/10/10 01:54 PM
Hi

I recently acquired a mint condition Promega 2.
Everything works perfectly but I can't get it to accept a volume pedal.

It has three pedal inputs with autodetection on the pedal type - the one for the damper pedal works fine.
The other two inputs recognise the pedal is plugged in but there is no effect on the volume level.
I have tried an Ensoniq CV pedal, a Yamaha FC7 and a Roland EV5 but nothing works.
I've also made the settings for pedals "Global" and done a full factory reset - any ideas?

r
Alan

Hi, this is a very long time after your post, but I just wanted to say that the 3 pedals are for Sustain (damper) Sostenuto (sustains all notes currently held down only) and Una corda (one string i.e. the soft pedal) GEM made a proprietary 3 pedal unit to go with the pro-megas. As you say there's no provision for a volume pedal, but I think that you could just connect one in line between the keyboard and the amp (harder if you are working stereo) Actually I'm thinking of selling my pro mega 2, can I ask you how much you paid for yours, to give me a guide re price? Mine is also in mint condition.
