DDX 3216 inserts new

Once tracks have been recorded through this onto my hard drive they are then played back through to tracks 17-32. Is it possible to apply outboard effects through the inserts to the channels after they have already been recorded onto?the menual isn't really too clear.

No. The inserts on the DDX are in the analogue input stage.

If you want to use outboard effects you can send the signal to one of the four multi outs and bring it back in on a spare channel.
