Noise from PC thru PA amp

Bit of a weird problem, i have a cubase recording system on my lap top, which i am using for backing tracks in a live situation. When i use the PC headphone socket to connect to the phono inputs there is a lot of noise if the pc power supply is in use. If i disconnect from the power supply the background noise disappears completely. I can't rely on the pc's battery for live performance so need a solution....any ideas?
