'absent mind' work with solo artist new
      #524093 - 26/09/07 03:55 AM
recently i've been working with a couple of solo artists

cece came to us with some lyrics and a melody

i've posted a mix of the first track we've completed 'absent mind' on myspace

absent mind

it has very simply, just keys, drums and vocals

i had the aid of two very fine musician friends playing keys and drums for us

the song and chord structures were worked out in about 30 mins, which blows my mind! lol

i've had such a difficult time trying to write a bassline because the amount of un-orthodox chords (in my book anyway) floating all over the shop!

so i've left that out for the time being

hopefully it sounds fine without it!

expect one more track from this artist soon

and also one from another artist....

any constructive crits would be great

A smoke filled cellar bar at 3am, the punters laid back or passed out, the band stoned and on autopilot and a young singer wondering what the hell she's doing there. Private eye Tony Boston finishes frisking the drunk in the corner and strolls past the stage as he leaves. He gives her his card. "Call me tomorrow", he says, "I can put you in touch with my friend Lew, he's a great producer, he'll get you out of this joint"......
