Monitor membrane broken
      #955254 - 25/11/11 09:54 AM
Hi folks,
this is my first post here and I have a question:

I ripped two scratches into the membrane of my Yamaha HS80M speakers. I don't know how I did that, I just remember I accidently touched the thing with my hip or something fell onto it.
The scissures are in that white 8" woofer, and they are about 1 cm long and 1 cm from each other.
I can't find any source for replacement woofers. Is there a way to fix this, with glue maybe?
These are Yamahas A-PMD special membranes (Advanced Polymer-injected Mica Diaphragm), so it's not paper but plastic.
I could also think of changing the woofers on both of my monitors to make them balanced again. Or fix the holes with tape or glue and use these as secondary monitors (and buy two other reference monitors).

I'd be grateful for any thoughts.

Contact your local/regional Yamaha agent and order a replacement driver.
