Synth repairs?
      #812421 - 16/02/10 10:38 PM
Can anyone recommend the best place for synth repairs in England?

I'm eyeing up these two:

www.synthrepairservices.com

www.synthrestore.co.uk

The synths I want repaired are: Juno 106, ARP Axxe, and Octave Kitten.

Cheers,
James

I can wholeheartedly recommend James Walker at synthrepairservices as I have used him on several occasions.

Whether he has the time to fit any additional repair jobbies in is another issue.

James is by far the best....be prepared to wait though and I mean months if not a year!

I've used EMS for years for my keyboard repairs. They're two very able engineers and honest people too!

Another extremely experienced and able synth repair guy is Dave Wiseman...

I also recommend James Walker as he has looked after me for 10 years. I did go to a London repairer for an emergency repair recently and was charge £100 for having a look at a item for one hour and not finding the fault. James, as far as I know, does not charge for fault finding.

Also am not sure about the waiting months or a year for a repair as I always get mine done very quickly but maybe I have got lucky every time!

Lastly James has competitive rates but more importantly is completely trustworthy and really knows his stuff. He specialises more than others (it seems to me) in the vintage end of things.
