Which multi-FX with a Nord Lead 2X?
      #829784 - 26/04/10 07:22 PM
Hi,

I have just bought a Nord Rack 2X, and I'm looking for a multi-fx processor to palliate its lack of onboard effects.

What I need is a hardware processor that can provide reverb *and* delay/chorus/phaser/flanger with a quality equivalent to the onboard fx processors of a workstation like a Trinity or a Motif. I would prefer a device with good presets and a few parameters that can be tweaked easily from its panel over a full computer editable device (and, of course, it must respond to pgm changes sent from my master kb via MIDI).

I'm considering a TC Electronics M350 or a Lexicon M200, which match my budget.

Which one would you recommand?

Are there other hardware processors that I might consider given my needs and my budget?

Although Behringer is often seen as on the 'cheap side', could a Virtualizer Pro do the job? What is its built-in vocoder worth?

Thanks for your opinions and for your advice.

Boss SE50 or SE70 - dirt cheap s/h and fun units to play with. The 70 is the 'poor man's Eventide' with some good pitch shift + delay algorithms.

I keep meaning to pick up a DP4 ..... I've only ever heard good things about them. Admittedly from fairly twisted people ...

New, then the units that you are looking at are fine.

Digitech Studio Quad V2 isn't bad either for the price. It has four ins and outs, so cand be well matched to the Nord's 4 outputs.
