Hi all,
Does anyone know how to replace the battery in a Yamaha AN1x? I'm
reasonably confident with a soldering iron so that's not a worry but has anyone done
it?
Any info appreciated.
Cheers

Soldering not required they simply slot in a holder, they use Lithium coin cells which are
about the size of a ten pen piece, most synths use CR2032 type batteries but i think the
AN1X when I had to change mine was a CR2042 or something.I no longer have the synth so
can't verify the battery code, but I remember having to buy a different type as I usually
keep a couple of CR2032s and remembered having to buy a specific one for the AN,
Maplins will be your best bet for the CR2042,the CR2032's are more commonplace
and you can pick them up from your local supermarket(Tescos/Asda)shouldn't cost more than
about £1-50-£2 for a battery
Remove the underside case and simply remove
the old one(pop it out of its holder with a flat blade) and replace it with the new
one, shouldn't take more than about 10-15 mins to do,most of the work will be in removing
the scews on the casing

Hi
Yep, just a simple pop out/pop in. Make sure the keyboard is unplugged.
Undo all the screws on the bottom (there are a lot!), and remove the cover. You'll see
the battery in the holder, gently lever it out using a screw driver and pop the new one
in. Replace the cover, then you will have to do a system reset by holding 7, 8, 9 on the
keypad whilst powering on, then you need to press 9. Easy. I am away from my AN1x at the
moment so can't be sure, but I think that's right.

Hi, I replaced my AN1x battery last week - and made a YouTube video showing how to do
it. If you can use a screwdriver then you can do this - no soldering required. Here's the
link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcXjwbmlzxkGood Luck!
