I've never been here (this forum)- does that mean I'm not cool? Maybe best not to answer!
I wasn't sure where to put the link, I chose the MRT because there are sometimes people posting there about film sound etc. I'm not sure about sound design though (as cool as it may be!) as the recordist talks more about mic placement, troublesome environments etc rather than designing sound?
But, it's nice to have been in the cool place for a while

This is one of the most sensible Location Recordist interviews I've ever heard.

Well done Midgers.

He hits it on the head, keeping people quiet and getting frocks on your side.

Ever more fan driven devices on set and the tryanny of the mobile phone and Freelancers.

Multi Tracking everyone is tedious and needs good dialog editor to scrub up vox and a sensible dubbing mixer to blend boom and hidden lavalier.

As John says the days of a Nagra over your shoulder have long gone.

Just watched True Grit, like Kings Speech another excellent dialog driven movie with excellent location sound.
