Kurzweil K2000 VP Power up problem new

Hi

I recently bought a K2000VP and am really enjoying the wide range of sounds.

However sometimes when I power on I get a problem. The screen lights up (but is blank), the floppy drive light comes on and the 10 programme, setup, master etc lights flash (red). The keyboard appears to freeze and doesn't boot up. To overcome this I need to cycle power a number of times and put the original sound disc in the drive (maybe this is coincidence?).

I have replaced the 3 AA batteries and completed a few hard resets.

I have OS 3.54J

Any ideas?

Sounds like the startup capacitors on the switch-mode PSU.. get the PSU serviced and it should be good again

Any advice where is best to get it serviced?
