Hi
Firstly, excellent place this for people like me. I’ve been making
music on my Pc now for 4 months and learning and loving every minute of it!
I'm knocking up a basic track loosely based on Gary Numan's Airplane track from the
Pleasure Principle album. I've got PolyMoog's Vox Humana and Strings presets (oh thank you
Nostalgia), bass guitar (Sonik Synth) and real drums (Battery2).
The one
sound I cannot get or create (or sample effectively) is the OTHER bass synth sound in the
track. It sounds like two tones, one plain and the other wobbling like metal type thing!?
The same sound is used an octave or two up the keyboard, on it's own, at the beginning of
the Metal track (I think) on the same album as well as Conversation.
My
setup is just an X-Fi soundcard, Midi KB and Cubase SX3 and loads of VST synths / effects
/ samplers etc. The classic example of more money than musical ability and sense!
I’m not very good yet at creating sounds from scratch so bear in mind when
responding.
Thanks for your anticipated responses.
Regards
Prod

One of the presets in the Korg Legacy bundle is exactly like that sound. I can't remember
for sure, but I think it is in the Polysix. When I first heard it I immediately started
playing the intro to "This Wreckage" and it was really close.
