Dead PC Woes-Cubase SL2 advice needed

Hi,

Help!!!!

Recently, my beloved PC (bought for £2k+!!!!!) decided to destroy itself. It was a pentium 4 3.2ghz with 2Gb ram with reason 2.5 and cubase sl2 with mi4. I got it in mid 2004. Of course technology has moved on since then, and so I have decided to build a new pc. my question is: Do cubase sl2 and reason 2.5 recognise and utilise a dual core setup (think a crusoe 2.4ghz duo)or would I be wasting my money? Would I have to upgrade to SL3 and reason 3? Also, how about the MI4 interface? Any other issues you think I should know about?

I'm really concerned about compatability issues.
