Vocals, Guitar & Track - One Man Band Facility

Hello,
Does anybody know of a unit that combines an XLR (or 2), 2 jack inputs
and the facility to play out stereo backing tracks? I would simply like to slim down my
gear and make my one man band show even more mobile!
The closest I've come so
far is the Line 6 JM4 Looper Pedal. It's great but the SD Card facility which allows the
storage of the backing tracks only plays Mono files which is no good!
Thanks,
Sam

Tell us what other gear you have and what level of reliability and flexibility you're
after. As a minimum I would want a small mixer with good preamps and a foot
controllable flash drive player for playback. Bob

Buy
equipment that's designed for purpose, rather than trying to make 'do' with something.
I use a Zoom R16, which has all of the features you'd ever need, including onboard
effects, XLR input, 8 track mixer, etc, etc, and it's SSD so it's fast and very reliable.
They'll regularly sell for £120-£150 on Ebay, so they're not expensive, and in over 100
gigs mine hasn't put a foot wrong.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for your reply. I'm after ultimate reliability and flexible to
the point that as long as it's less gear than I already carry, it's worth exploring. I'd
sooner not continue using a computer for live work as to be reliable, I should really
carry a spare as a backup and this defeats the object.
I'd actually like to run
three tracks at once from a player so that I can have a stereo backing track plus a click
track running in sync but monitored independently so that it didn't go to the front of
house. Obviously I need to get these tracks onto the player in the first place.
I can then use a multi in/out standalone audio interface such as the MOTU traveler or
ultralite to monitor the track as I wish and the click separately. I have accepted that
this process will not be cheap and like the idea of a foot controllable flash drive
player. Can you suggest any and could they play back 3+ tracks in sync?
Thanks,
Sam

Hello,
Thanks for that, you're totally right! I thought I'd found a gem in the
JM4 but sadly not and to be honest, you're not going to replace a load of expensive gear
with a £250 foot pedal, it was naive of me to think so.
I had a look at the
Zoom R16 and the only thing it lacks (or so it appears) is assignable outputs. I'd really
like to be able to play a stereo backing track and a click track and monitor them
separately so that I don't send the click to the main outputs/front of house!
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Sam
