Woes installing Logic 9 on a clean Lion disk

I have a Logic 9 upgrade, purchased on release day of Logic 9. I also have a MacBook Pro
with a clean Lion install. Apparently, the installer.pkg won't run in Lion. Can anybody
recommend a workaround? I could wipe the drive, install Snow Leopard, install Logic, then
upgrade back to Lion, but that seems a little silly. Is there an easier way to launch the
installer?

The installer won't run?
I've seen loads of people with Lion that installed
Logic from their disks just fine, then ran software update to get the latest Logic
version, and it worked fine.
Exactly what happens when you run the
installer?
Can you install using Pacifist instead?

When I click on the installer, I get, "You can't open the application LogicStudio.mpkg
because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." My understanding is that the
installer.app on the disc operates under Rosetta. There must be a way around this, right?

Logic 9?The Logic 8 installer is PPC (and won't run on Lion), but the Logic 9 one should
be ok.
If not, you could always use Pacifist, as suggested above, to install
the app.

There should be no problem with a logic 9 upgrade on Lion, I did the very thing a month
ago, no problems apart from long install!
Is it a straight logic DVD?

The disc is a Logic 9 upgrade, purchased day of release from Apple. It is definitely
giving me the PPC error, but I am attempting to use Migration Assistant to move Logic 9.14
from a backup drive to my clean Lion install. The progress bar shows 75% or so. We'll soon
see if that worked. If not, I'll try Pacifist. Is it fairly straight forward to use
Pacifist?

Well, it looks like I'll need a fresh hard drive to test Pacifist for installation.
Migration Assistant brought everything over just fine. I do intend to try the other way,
though. I'll let you know how that goes. Thanks for the advice!

You are correct, boxed versions and the upgrades are universal binaries. To
test Lion I updated to Lion on an external drive, that contained a clone of my snow
leopard install to get around the PPC issue, with Logic and 3rd party plugs. Search the net, to see if there is a work around.
