Oxygen volume in Cubase

Hi, sorry if this has come up before, I have searched the forums and extensively on the web but there seems to be no clear answer and I certainly haven't solved it.
I have an M-Audio Oxygen 49 KB controller which I am trying to use to create music in Cubase 5 and HalionOne . I can get sounds without a problem BUT at very low volume. Suggestions range from lowering the volume of the other tracks, (fine but what if it is the only track), to unintelligible macro based advice which seems to bear no relavence to the software / hardware I use. Everything else works well just this niggling problem.
Any suggestions?
