Haven't heard it, but is it the really really high notes? If it's them the hiss it might be because she is singing harmonics (sounds a bit like whistling) and lots of air comes out with only a little bit of note.

I'm sure someone will point out that you can't sing harmonics, but I can't remember the right word - it's like falsetto but even less voicebox.

Not convincing am I? Well I know what I mean!
