I've tried doing searches on PCI vs. Firewire. It seems that there are more and more Firewire interfaces popping up. I don't plan to go towards the mobile setup just yet but the more I ask around to audio pros localy the more they tell me that PCI is a much better format to go for in the interface realm. Firewire spec can't compete with PCI and ESPECIALLY PCI-X. Is this true? Is the spec for Firewire 800 THAT much better than 400?
It kind of makes sense to me now that PCI-X is slowly become standard. That being said.....
Are there going to be more developments for PCI-X interfaces in the near future? As in, within the next 6 to 12 months? Is it worth the wait? PCI-X is a huge jump from old school PCI. Please let me know. Thank you all for your patience and your knowledge.
