The fact is that Stroud wants to run GigsStudio 3.0 on a PC setup NOW.
And as far as I know, that meams multiple machines at the moment, if you are going for the full orchestra.
And I think a pair of socket 939 3000+ sytems, each with 2GB RAM, is a sensible plan; not least because if a single machine solution under XP64 does emmerge that shpould be a relativley straightforward upgrade.
The interesting question is this:
Is there in fact any way of running this on a single machine at present? Have we missed an option?
I.e can we, for instance, run an FX teleport client and server on the same machine. The address space limitation is per application... Do you have to be running XP64 for this to work, or could you run Giga plus the FX teleport client and host on on machine with (say) 4GB of RAM and an X2 4200?
Where do you live Stroud? If anybody has the necessary software to hand and there is any way this could work I'd be happy to conduct some experiments.
