If you don't need masses of volume then you could look at some of the many cheapo active speakers on the market. Most are coming out sounding pretty good, the compromise is the SPL output, which is a good deal lower. Expect around 103-110 rather than the SRM450's ear splitting 127.

Also assuming you've got a FOH system capable of putting enough bass into the room, there's no need to have lots of bottom end in your personal monitoring. There'll be more than enough bass in the room with your monitor giving you clarity on the rest.

I regularly monitor with an EV S40 (tiny little thing) and it's fine.
