I live 2 and 1/2 blocks from a river and it is usually around 60 to 70 % humid in the room where I have much of my recording gear (closer to 70 % when it is rainy, around 55 % to 60 % on dry days) . My PowerMac G5 specs environmental requirements list that can operate in "Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing", but I cannot find anything about acceptable humidity levels in the rest of my gear (Mbox 1, Event TR8XL monitors, Roland SP606 groovebox, Korg KP2 and MicroKorg, Shure SM57 and SM58).
The instructions on my Hygrometer state ideal humidity at 45 to 55 % between 20 to 22 degrees Celsius, and I know drier is better but running the dehumidifier all the time SIGNIFICANTLY jacks up the electricity bill.
What is the highest humidity level I can get away with ?
