I consider my set up to be 'all singing, all dancing' (new mac, new software, new digital mixer/interface/control surface) - yet there is almost ALWAYS something which hinders my creativity and as a result, if I make the slightest progress I feel like I've really achieved something; even though in reality its a minor result.

A few years back I used to knock tracks out on my Yamaha RM1X almost every day. Be prepared, upgrading might not give you the results you expect... when all's said and done though, I wouldn't go back. I live in hope that one day the hands on creative process between me and my hard/software will be easy and streamlined, etc.
