My "new" DP 533 arrived and the next step is to add a SATA controller and one or two drives.
Which option makes the most sense???
1. One hard drive, 3 partitions (OSX, OS9, and file storage for both OSX & OS9 files)?
2. Two hard drives each with a smaller partition (10-20Gb) for OS and apps, the rest for storage. Drive A would have OSX/apps on the smaller partition; the larger partition would be for OS9 file storage. Drive B would have OS9/apps on the smaller partition; larger for OSX storage???
I guess the idea for option #2 would be for less wear and tear on the hard drive read/write heads. With one drive and two or more partitions, the heads would be doing double duty reading OS, and reading/writing files.
Thoughts???
