Awful sound in Swansea!

Some friends took me to a gig in the Brandgwyn Hall, Swansea last night. Huge Deco hall, rock band, a bit 'prog', called Delirious.

Speakers were D+B

audiotechnik, which are very good - I've had the pleasure of using them a few times in different places. Fourteen speakers including subs, and one fill for centre stage.

The problem was the bottom-end. It was very powerful, but very resonant and OTT in the upper bass. Just a mush. Whether CDs were playing or the band. Otherwise the speakers integrated well in the room.

No effort seemed to be made to tame this muddle . . . What was the bass playing? Was that the floor tom and/or the bass? Where was the snare? What about the guitar solos?

People payed £12 for this!
