Listening to the opening bars before the voice came in my brain was saying "original Fleetwood Mac" The song broods nicely until the drums come in and change the mood.

I would have tried percussion sounds instead, timpani and all that and maybe not bothered with an actual drum rhythm.

It's all down to personal taste
