The DM 1000 is a lovely desk, hampered only by it's inherently very compact control surface. Almost all the functionality and connectivity of the 02R96, but in a smaller (and therefore less impressive looking) box. I wouldn't trade in my DM1000 for the DM3200, but y0u migt have different requirements to me.

As you might have guessed fromthe review, I rate the DM1000 rather higher than the Dm3200 -- but they are designed to do slightly diffrent things, and have very different operating paradigms. I prefer the Yamaha way of doing things generally, but you might find the tascam board easier to live with on a daily basis. You'll have to try both and see.
