I regularly run in a church venue with a A&H GL2200, and am having problems with the drum kit overpowering the mix, as one of my drummers, even with brushes can get a fair sound out of the kit.
I've been browsing on internet trying to find a suitable drum screen, to dampen the sound from the kit so as to lower the sound level on stage, and give me more control over the house mix.
www.drumscreens.co.uk - I looked on here, but wasn't too impressed tbh. I usualy run with two overhead mics, a bass drum mic, and one for high hat/snare. And wasn't too sure on just how big a screen i'd need to fit everything in.
I've looked into this before, and thought about 'rent to buy' on a screen, so i can trial it out. But couldn't source anywhere that would do this for me.
Also, behind the drum kit is wooden paneling, old skool mahogany. So I think i'd need a back panel for the screen, but still be able to leave access for the drummer to get to the kit!
Any ideas?
I'll see if i can't get a picture up of the setup soon.
