Yes, Rhoads was great... Multiple tracking was the order of the day there, he'd play the same thing through a number of times (though there is a bit of ADT happening on certain phrases, if I'm not mistaken).
He also used a Jackson V as well as the LP's I believe. I liked SATO for it's flow, and Goodbye to romance for the simpler melodic vibe.
Blackmore and he were doing the first stuff where I really dug the serious "classical" flavouring (probably the last too, LOL).
