Thanks - I actually see the problem on both my laptops (which connect to the Internet and both run Ad-aware, Avast, Spywareblaster, Spybot, Spysweeper, and WinPatrol in parallel, in conjunction with Kerio and XP firewalls), and both my desktops (which are used for music prod exclusively, and never even connected to the internet).

Think Timo's right; Windows is a bloated bugger of an OS, and still can't fluidly scroll fonts without flashing or hiccuping on the screen - blame it on Microshaft
